While working as a graduate assistant at Memphis, served as assistant coordinator of a city-wide high school newspaper geared toward minority teens. Helped launch the monthly tabloid, which is a project designed to encourage high school minorities to go into journalism, funded by the Scripps Howard Foundation, The University of Memphis, The Commercial Appeal and Memphis City Schools.
